USA III
08. August until 30. September 2009

The Hoh Rain Forest in the Olympic National Park was our first destination after we had arrived by ferry from Vancouver Island to Port Angeles/Washington. The giant Redwood trees along the coast of Washington are the tallest trees on earth. We saw trees that were 1000 years old, 80 meters tall and weigh over 400 tons. Walking through those woods felt like being in a fairy tale. The beauty of the unspoiled nature along the rugged Oregon coast, made us stay longer than intended. San Francisco has much more to offer than the tourist hot spots. On walking tours, we passed through neighbor-hoods with interesting architecture, flowering gardens and hidden parks. We also enjoyed the authentic cuisine in Little Italy and China Town. The Coastal Highway 1, is still as beautiful as we remembered it to be. Baja California in Mexico is our next destination.
